The design is marketed for work-force housing. The 16' townhouses will be two-stories over parking with two bedrooms and a den. Each unit features a usable entry stoop and balcony off of the rear of the home. The townhouses will have rear loaded two car garages. Construction to begin late 2010. ► Miller Purdy Architects was awarded the design of an 8,000 sf senior center in North Philadelphia. The senior center will support the communities seniors with a variety of services. The design will consist of a computer / work room, community room, conference room and many other needed services. On the boards is an irish pub, a sports bar, a Greek style restaurant and a burger diner. Each restaurant offers individual complexities and unique design opportunities. We look forward to construction beginning on each in 2010. ► We have completed designs and construction documents for a two townhouse renovation (in Philadelphia) into 6 multi-family units. Construction will start in February 2010 on the 3 flats and 3 stacked townhouse units. The homes will supply permanent supportive housing for homeless families with special needs. The project used government / private funding, in particular the Redevelopment Authority of Philadelphia. ► Miller Purdy Architects continues to work toward master plan approval of a 150 unit age-targeted community in the Poconos. This community is situated on a beautiful mountain side, just 1.5 hours from Philadelphia and New York City. The community is a mix of single family, twin and townhouse units and is designed around a challenging 80 year-old golf course. A 5,000 sf community center and new pro-shop are planned as well.
